Here is the class outline:

1. Technology Debate (L1)

Encourage good debates/discussions on technology

2. Wireframing (L1)

Students will be given the role of User Experience designer to help an emerging company make a website or mobile app that will make them successful.

3. Conditional Logic (L1)

Create a build your own adventure (if/else if/else) game without the syntax of a programming language

4. HTML Puzzle (L1)

Show three repl.it websites, each using the same HTML and CSS but with different layouts. Students are given print-outs of the HTML tags used, and place themselves in the order to make the website look as it is.

5. HTML/CSS Relay Race (L1)

Students will receive one challenge at a time that will require them to write HTML on a computer. In teams of around 3, they will trade off being the typer while the other team members can help. An instructor must check that they got the correct answer before they get the next question. Team to complete all 15 questions first, or the furthest team at the end of the alloted time, will be declared the winners!

6. HTML & CSS Hula Hoop Showdown (L1)

Students will be in two groups on the opposite sides of a train of hula hoops, and they will try and get to the opposite side by answering HTML questions faster than the students on the other side.

7. Cyber Security Game (L1/L2)

Students will learn about cyber security risks and ways to mitigate them.

8. Act out a Sorting Algorithm (L1/L2)

Students will experience how a computer can tackle a problem of sorting a list

9. Relay Race CSS (L2)

Students will receive one challenge at a time that will require them to write CSS. In teams of 3, they will trade off typing and trying to complete as many challenges as possible.

10. CSS Diner (L2)

Students will play CSS Diner to improve their CSS skills in a fun engaging game.

11. Web Development Jeopardy! (L2)

Play a jeopardy game with questions on HTML, CSS and web development concepts

12. Hackathon (L2)

Work together in a group to create a website that will accomplish a goal.
